Big Library Loan

big-book-001.jpgLibrary Technician Mary Lou Berry recently received her largest loan (interlibrary loan, that is) ever from the Fondren Library at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.  Measuring approximately 21 by 15 inches inches and weighing over 20 pounds, this beautiful volume is filled with reproductions of 14th century religious and moral writings including an Arthurian Grail romance, a text of the “Pistill of Susan”, an early copy of “Piers Plowman” and versions of Richard Rolle’s epistels. Ms Berry is pictured here with student assistant Tasha Jungwirth holding the Vernon Manuscript: a facsimile of Bodleian Library. Posted by M. Kraljic
