Some faculty members have used the library’s Docutek Electronic Reserves system to make class materials, such as articles, book chapters, and lecture notes, available to their students online. Due to budget concerns, the library will discontinue its license for Docutek. Library personnel expect the system to remain functional through the end of the Spring 2011 semester, but we will no longer receive updates after March 31, 2011.
Faculty members are encouraged to move their class materials to D2L, the university’s course management system. Anyone needing help making the transition may contact Instructional Design Services. Briggs Library personnel hope that since class materials can be made available online via other means, SDSU students, staff, and faculty will not be inconvenienced by the discontinuation of Docutek.
